Sa'id bin Al-Musayyab (Died 90 H)

Full name Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab bin Hazn al-Quraishi al-Makhzumi, his father and his grandfather was a friend of the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, he was born before Umar became caliph, since his youth had traveled day and night to get the hadith of the Prophet.



Regarding him as told by Ahmad bin Hanbal is: "He tabi'in foremost". While Makhul said: "I have roamed the earth for study, teryata I did not meet anyone who is more clever than Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab". Meanwhile Ali ibn al-Madini declared: "I do not know anyone among tabi'in extensive knowledge than him, I think he is the biggest tabi'in".

The scholars narrated that he marry his daughter to Kutsayyir bin Abi Wada'ah only with a dowry of two dirhams. Whereas previously he had refused the application Abdul Malik who wants to match her with al-Walid bin Abdul Malik. And when Abdul Malik allegiance for his son was about to carry out al-Walid, Hisham bin Ismail as a substitute Abdul Malik in Medina hit bi Sa'id al-Musayyab and faced with swords, to force him to do bai'at yet remain unwilling Sa'id.

Ibn Musayyab hadith narrated from Abu Bakr in Mursal, and he heard of Umar, Uthman, Abu Hurairah, Zaid ibn Thabit, Hazrat Aisha and several others.

Who narrated from him, among others, Salim bin Abdullah, Az-Zuhri, Qatada, Syuraik, Abu az-Zanad.

He died in the year 94 Hijriyah.
