Shafiyah bint Huyai bin Akhtab (Died 50H)

Name and Nasab
His full name is Safia Bint Huyay bin Akhtab bin Sa'yah bin Amr bin Ubayd ibn Ka'b bin Al-Khazraj bin Habib bin Nadir bin al-Kham bin Yakhurn from Aaron bin Imran. His mother named Barrah bint Samaual Darin Bani Quraizhah. Safia was born eleven years before moving, or two years after the prophethood of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam .. His father was a leader of Banu Nadir.

Since childhood, he loved science and diligently study the history and beliefs of his people. Of scripture he read that the law will come a prophet of the Arabian peninsula which will be closing all the prophets. His mind was drawn to the prophetic issues, especially after Muhammad appeared in Mecca He was very surprised when people did not believe the big news, when it was clearly written in their book dalarn. Likewise father, Huyay bin Akhtab, very persistent hateful toward Muslims.

The nature of lies, deceit, and cowardly father had looked in the eyes of Safia in many events. Among Safia concern is Huyay attitude towards his own people, the Jews of Bani Quraizhah. When it is, Huyay pledged to support and provide assistance to them if they release agreement
betray not Muslims (Hudaybiya Agreement). However, when the Jews betrayed the agreement, Huyay disclaims and does not bother them anymore. Another thing is the attitude of the people of Quraysh of Mecca. Huyay go to Mecca for rnenghasut Quraish in order to combat the Muslims, and they told him to admit that their religion (Quraish) is more noble than the religion of Muhammad, and their god is better than the god of Muhammad.

His marriage period

Lady Shauiyyah bin Huyay r.a. has been twice married sebelurn with the Prophet. Her first husband was named Salam bin Musykam, one of the leaders of Bani Quraizhah, but their household did not last long. Her second husband was named Kinanah ibn Rabi 'bin Abil Hafiq, which is also one of the leaders expelled the Banu Quraizhah Prophet and then settled in Khaibar.

Conquest of Khaibar and Detentio

Battle of the Trench has unmasked a betrayal of the Jews against the agreement which they had agreed with the Muslims. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. soon realized the threat that would befall the Muslims with the migration of the Jews of Khaibar is then utilized to form a strong defense for the preparation of attacking the Muslims.

After the treaty was agreed to cease hostilities Hudaybiyah for ten years, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. plotting attacks against Jews, precisely in the seventh year of Hijra Muharram. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. led the Muslim armies to conquer Khaibar, the strongest and the last bastion of the Jews. Devastating war lasted until several days, and finally victory in the hands of Muslims. Forts they successfully destroyed, their property became the spoils of war, and the women became a prisoner of war. Among the prisoners of war are Safia, daughter of Jewish leaders who left her husband dead.

Bilal brought Safia and daughter of his uncle to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam .. Along the road that passes visible bodies clan soldiers were killed. Safia hearts are very sad to see the state of it, especially when considering that he was a prisoner of the Muslims.Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. dialaminva understand sadness, then he said to Bilal, "Have they lost the sense of compassion in your heart, O Bilal, so you have the heart to bring these two women pass through the bodies of their husbands?" Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. rnemilih wife Safia after first offering to him and then
receipt Islam.

As has been reviewed above, Safia has a lot to think about the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam since he did not know his apostolate. His confidence grew after he knew that Muhammad is the messenger of God. Anas r a. said, "The Messenger when about to marry the daughter Safia Huyay asked him, 'Is there something that you know about me?' He replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I've
expecting since I was idolatrous, and think if God granted my wish that when I've merneluk Islam . "The phrase Safia shows a sense of disbelief to the Prophet and longing to Islam.

Clear evidence of faith Safia can be seen when he dreamed of something dalarn her then she told the dream to her husband. Knowing takwil and dream it, angry and slapped her face so that the scar on his face Safia. Rasulullah saw marks on Safia's face and asked, "What is this?" He replied, "O Messenger, one night I dreamed of seeing the moon appears in Yathrib, later fell in my room. Then I told the dream to my husband, Kinanah. He said, 'Do you like to be followers of the king who came from Medina?' Then he slapped my face. "

Umm al-Mumineen Being

Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Safia and her freedom to marry into her marriage dowry. His marriage with Safia based on several grounds. Safia has mernilih Islam and married to the Prophet when he gave him the choice between embracing Islam and married with him or stay with his religion and fully released. Turns Safia chose to remain with the Prophet, moreover, Safia was the daughter of a Jewish leader who is very harmful to the Muslims, in addition, also because of his love for Islam and the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Safia respect as his respect towards the other wives. However, his wives to welcome Safia with cynical face because he was a Jew, as well as a charming beauty. As a result of their attitude, the Prophet never did sleep with Zaynab bint Jahsh because the words he made about Safia. Aisha tells about the incident, "the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. was on his way. Safia camel suddenly ill, while camel Zainab excess. Prophet said to Zainab, 'Camel ride Safia sick, would you give one and your camel?' Zainab said, 'Will I give to a Jewish woman? "Finally, he left Zainab Hijjah and Muharram month. That is, he does not go to Zainab for three months. Zainab said, 'So I was desperate and I divert my bed. "Aisha said again," One afternoon I saw the shadow of the Prophet came.
When it Safia and Aisha Hafsah heard chatter about herself and her leverage origin. How sad feelings. Then he complained to the Prophet weeping.

Prophet comforted her, 'Why do not you say, how you two are better than me, my husband Mohammed, father of Aaron, Moses and my uncle. "In the hadith narrated by Tirmidhi also mentioned," When Safia heard Hafsah said, "Jewish Women!" He cried, then the Prophet approached him and said, 'Why cngkau crying?' He replied, 'Hafsa bint Umar taunt me that I Yahudiah woman.' Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. said, 'You are a child prophet, your uncle is a prophet, and now you are under the protection of the prophet. What else is he proud of you? "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. then said to Hafsa, 'And fear ye Allah, Hafsa! "

One proof of love Hafsa to the Prophet contained in the hadith narrated by Ibn Saad dalarn Thabaqta her about the Prophet's wives were gathered ahead of his death. Safia said, "By Allah, O Prophet, I want what you have suffered also be deritaku." The wives of the Prophet beckoned to one another. Seeing such things, he said, "Gargle!" Startled, they asked, "From what?" He replied, "From the cues your eyes to it. By Allah, he is right. "

After the Prophet died, Safia felt very isolated in the middle of the Muslims because they always come and Jewish thought, but he remains committed to Islam and support the struggle of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. When there is a big slander upon the death Utsrnan ibn Affan, he was in the line of Uthman. In addition, he also narrated the hadith of the Prophet lot. He died during the caliphate of Mu'awiya bin Abi Sufyan. Marwan bin Hakam prayed, then buried it in the Baqi '. May Allah give him a broad and noble with Him. Amen.
